At an official ceremony in Italy, under the patronage of the Mayor of Sacile was signed a Memorandum of Understanding between 11 municipalities of the “extended” Europe (from Italy, Malta, Romania, Croatia, Hungary, Macedonia, Slovenia and Spain) and two associations of municipalities, among the Union of Bulgarian Black Sea Local Authorities.
The event took place on 12th April, 2014 in the historical building “Palazzo Ragazzoni” in the picturesque little town Sacile in the presence of more than 100 representative of local authorities – mayors and councilors , NGOs and media.
The municipalities of Brugnera, Porcia, Fontanafredda, Chaneva and Sacile in Italy, the Municipality of Novigrad in Croatia, the Municipality of Marghita in Romania, the municipality of Struga in Macedonia and more signed a Memorandum of Understanding in support of already “established partners network ” to continue to promote the cooperation and exchange of experience between municipalities in the following areas :
– Local economic development
– Culture and Tourism
– Governance and participation
– EU funds and project management
– Local administration
The MoU is the result of realization of the European project “REACTION – Resources Anti-Crisis: Town twinning, Innovation, Openness and Networking”, in which all municipalities and associations of the above mentioned countries are project partners. The signing of the Memorandum match on the final project meeting in Sacile.
In the context of the agreement signed partners promised to meet at least once a year , to work on join projects and initiatives and share best practices implemented at national and local level.
