Become a change maker for the European election
ALDA – European Association for Local Democracy and its partners would like to invite you to participate in the TALE project’s capacity building programme, co-funded by the European Parliament. The project aims to empower citizens to engage a greater number of voters, reduce the gap of voter turnout among various EU member states and encourage them to play an active role in the next European parliamentary elections in 2024.
Goals of the TALE project
The principal objective of the TALE project is to encourage and facilitate the active engagement of European citizens with the construction of a vibrant European democracy, with a special focus on younger voters
We will do this by:
- Training a selected number of citizens as change-makers. The training will focus on EU values, institutions, EU Parliament elections and the importance of relaying clear and transparent news
- Creating a communication campaign supported by the change-makers, in order to create a space that will allow citizens to get reliable information, debate about the next European Parliament election and get closer to the every-day life of the European institutions.
ALDA, together with its project partners, will organise and host a series of bottom-up, participatory workshops, events and training, aimed at raising awareness of the importance of the upcoming elections and increasing voter turnout.
Objective: The online Capacity Building Training is intended to make the future change-makers more aware and gain capacity building tools about political activism, the creation of communication campaigns, the importance of news and active democratic citizenship. When selected you will also get the chance to participate in online campaigns as well as help with the organisation of local events.
Change-makers Programme: The training will offer an intensive and strategic learning environment through three thematic modules:
- Political Activism with a particular focus on concepts and techniques related to political activism, including campaigning around the European elections of 2024.
- Campaigning and Citizens Empowerment with a special focus centred around on citizens’ empowerment in terms of social media literacy and civic rights as well as dealing with fake news, mis-, mal- and disinformation.
- Digital Campaigning: using as reference the change-makers’ concrete concepts for reaching out to their target groups, campaign narratives, activity/event locations, and promotion strategies.
❓Scope of the call: The capacity building programme will comprise 3 ONLINE WEBINARS. These webinars will be interactive and provide change-makers with concepts and techniques related to political activism, including campaigning methods for the European elections of 2024, ways to empower participants to reach out to their target groups and how to increase their followership and raise awareness for the most pressing issues of today.
It will not be necessary for changemakers to travel.
