Dobrich Municipality supported by UBBSLA team hosted the 3rd Core Meeting
During the period 15-16 of October 2024, the Lead partner – Verona Municipality and all the project partners, the URBACT Lead Expert and a representative of the URBACT Secretariat visited the Municipality of Dobrich in the frame of the 3rd Core Meeting of Re-Gen. The event started at the premises of the host with official welcoming by the Vice Mayor of Dobrich Municipality and the City Council Member, Head of the Standing Committee on Sport, Education and Youth activities. The guests and partners were introduced to the geographical and economic development of the municipality of Dobrich, the social, educational and youth supportive activities.
The actual working meeting to present the progress on IAP and on ULG was held at the building of Dobrich Youth Center. The institutional building, recently renovated, was a good example of a working youth space, full of content with a lot of activities (art, science, non-formal education, volunteering, etc.) providing to young citizens from the region.
Facilitated plenary discussion with all partners was conducted with focus on key factors slowing or accelerating the process of Integrated Action Plans (IAP) development, specific elements and options to improve going forward. Some partners shared their good examples related to Urban Local Group (ULG) establishment, networking support and the biggest risks identified- and potential mitigating steps. The first day of the 3rd Core Meeting finished with a final reflection on the Mid Term Review of Re-Gen and a MASTERCLASS for partners, focusing on service design methodology and tools for planning, leaded by Liat Rogel, Ad hoc expert.
The second day of the event was dedicated more to peer learning and the planning stage, sharing testing action outcomes, sharing IAP overall logic. Moreover, the partners had an opportunity to practice dancing a traditional Bulgarian dance (horo), to visit the Dobrich pilot site, called “Apple park” – outdoor space for youngsters and to participate in some sport and fest activities together with many young people from Dobrich.
A site visit for partners was organized by the Municipality of Dobrich to selected outdoor sport activities and infrastructure, developed by the municipality. The two-days Core Meeting officially ended with familiarization with the work of the Dobrich Youth Center and the Consultative Youth Council.
