The renovation activities of the UBBSLA pilot building in GreeTHIS project
In May 2021 the renovation activities of the UBBSLA pilot building, part of GreeTHIS were launched following a series of commissioning actions and permissions endorsed by the Ministry of culture and the relevant authorities. The building was designed in 1911 by architect Manol Yordanov and currently it is part of the archaeological reserve “The ancient Odessos – Varna”. It is a culture heritage and protected monument and is listed in the National Register of Immovable cultural values.
Within GreeTHIS an investment project has been developed with assessment of the technical conditions, destructive processes violating the façade elements and technical solutions for renovation and reconstruction activities and applications. The façade restoration project aims to restore the authentic appearance of the building with minimal interventions on it. The architectural project visualizes the restoration of the architectural, artistic and plastic image of the building close to its original outlook. The conservation and restoration activities will be realized simultaneously with the reconstruction activities. The restoration activities include: lime-sand plaster lay- out, restore of plaster cornices and the plastic decoration of lime-cement, and painting the facades.
