the Municipality of Devnya and ubbsla signed cooperation agreement to tackle youth unemployment
At the end of July 2019, the Mayor of the Municipality of Devnya, Mr. Svilen Shitov, formally supported the implementation of the project eNEET Rural: Facilitating entrepreneurship and improving skills of NEETs living in rural areas by signing a Cooperation Agreement with the Executive Director of the Association, Mrs. Mariana Kancheva.
By signing this agreement, the municipality of Devnya, in the person of Mr. Shitov, agreed, in the conditions of lasting partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation, to support the work of the Association with young people with a focus on low-skilled young people up to 29 years old living in small rural areas that do not study or work and have lost their motivation to look for work.
Namely, the eNEET Rural project envisages activities to enhance the skills of these young people by stimulating their entrepreneurship and successful realization in the agricultural labor market. Through various forms of training, youth competitions, staff exchanges and job placement consultations, the young people involved are expected to develop their professional skills and incentives to enter the labor market. Funded by the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment, the project is implemented by organizations from Norway, Italy, Spain, Slovenia, Hungary and Romania, which represent a network of youth support organizations, including youth NGOs, education and training centers, municipal associations, regional development agencies and business incubators with a focus on agriculture. The Union of Bulgarian Black Sea Local Authorities (UBBSLA) is a leading organization of the European consortium.
Currently, the UBBSLA has announced a selection procedure for young people wishing to participate in the Agro-Professional Skills courses. More about enrollment requirements: www.ubbsla.org/eneet-cources
