The European Green deal for local communities: an on-line training course organized by the CLAIRE project in May 2023
CLAIRE (acronym of “loCal AuthoritIes for a greener Europe”) is a European project funded by the CERV Programme, Network of Towns, which involves 7 organisations: the coordinator City of Asti (Italy) and the partners City of Setubal (Portugal), City of Quart de Poblet (Spain), City of Alba Iulia (Romania), Mancomunitat de l’Horta Sud (Spain), Association of Black Sea Municipalities (Bulgaria), ANCI Piemonte (Italy).
The main goal of the CLAIRE project is to increase the Green Deal ownership at local level.
The European Green Deal represents the main response by the EU to the current challenges related to climate and environment. It is a set of proposals (regulations, strategies, action plans) that takes into consideration every aspect of our life and combines scientific research, governance, financial resources, and citizens’ commitment to fight the climate crisis. All EU actions and policies contribute to this overall strategy.
Even if the has a crucial impact on territories and citizens, local communities do not know enough about the Green Deal and, as a result, they are not sufficiently aware of the disruptive role they can play at the local level in achieving the green transition.
For this reason, CLAIRE organizes, with the scientific collaboration of IUSE (the Italian University institute of European studies), the on-line training course “Green deal for local communities”, starting on 3rd May.
