The experience of UBBSLA and the opportunities for joint cooperation with the Bulgarian Black Sea municipalities was presented during the Black Sea Cities and Towns International Forum

The long-term experience of UBBSLA, the successful international projects and initiatives with the member municipalities of the Association were shared by Mrs. Elena Simeonova, project coordinator, during the international forum dedicated to the cities and municipalities located on the Black Sea (Black Sea Cities and Towns International Forum. The beginning of the Journey). The international event was organized by the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia (NALAG) and supported by Netherlands Diplomatic Missions Abroad. Based on the fact that the Municipalities on Georgia’s Black Sea coast play an important role in the country’s development and competitiveness, so these municipalities must understand how to change for success, what should be done in collaboration with other municipalities, and what their niche on the Black Sea is in order to develop rapidly. This was the first meeting of its kind to begin a discussion about Georgian municipalities’ challenges, familiarization with international sea initiatives, and getting acquainted with the experience of foreign colleagues. LSGs, CSOs, and businesses from Georgia’s Black Sea region, as well as state institutions, scientific circles, and professionals from Georgia and abroad, were invited to attend and actively engage in the meeting.
