Green Tourist Weekend in Galati, Romania
In 14th-15th August 2021 the first Green Tourist weekend held on in Galati, Romania as part of GreeTHIS. The event occasionally celebrated the 23th anniversary of the foundation of host, ACTEDJ, the Romanian partner in the project. The conference part gathered partner representatives, among which the UBBSLA as the project leader, ACTIE, as partner, experts in in tourism and regional development from public authorities in Romania, Republic of Moldova (Municipality Cantemir), Ukraine (Municipality Izmail), regional authority of Odessa Region, public officials, scientists and specialists on culture heritage, historic development, etc.
The conference was followed by a tour around several local communities in Galati region notably Suhurlui, Ivești, during which the guests were acquainted with the historic development and culture transformation of the local communities in this part of Romania through stories, legends, etc. The participants visited historic museums and local houses where got inspired by the common past, connecting the nations of Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Republic of Moldova.
