A launching event for the presentation of the project “eNEET Rural: Facilitating entrepreneurship and improving skills of NEETs living in rural areas” was held in Varna, organized by the Union of Bulgarian Black Sea Local Authorities (UBBSLA) as a leading project organization.
The event took place at the Interhotel “Cherno more” – Varna, Bulgaria on 12th of November 2018. The District Governor of Varna, Mr. Stoyan Pasev welcomed the international project partners from Italy, Spain, Slovenia, Romania and Norway, as well as over 50 present representatives of local business companies, small municipalities from Varna region, NGO, Varna Chamber of Commerce and Industry, universities and vocational high schools, cluster organizations, citizens and media.
“There are comparatively few job opportunities in Europe’s rural areas, the youth unemployment is high and many young people who have dropped out of school are low-skilled and have difficulties getting a job. Therefore, the eNEET Rural project will also focus on innovative training solutions for young people living in small municipalities”, with these words Mrs. Mariana Ivanova, CEO of UBBSLA started her speech. She also presented the project partners and the activities of the new project, which will be carried out for the next 3 years in the period 01.10.2018 – 30.09.2021. eNEET Rural will focus on innovation and technology in the agricultural sector by offering training, youth exchanges and training programs of 1.260 low-skilled young unemployed people, not in employment, education or training living in rural areas and registered with the public employment services, who face multiple barriers in entering the labour market.
The eNEET Launching event was accompanied by Kick-off project meeting held in the UBBSLA premises with the participation of all project partners. Mrs. Polina Antonova welcomed all of them wishing the best execution and results of the project. She gave the floor to each partner to introduce the organization he/she represents and the expertise in the project implementation. The Kick-off meeting continued according to the Agenda with the lead partner presentation on the administrative and financial issues followed by the rest of the partners.
